Our Writing and Communications area has a robust portfolio of courses that will help you excel in your written and oral communication skills. In addition, we offer content aimed at professional communicators, such as our Social Media certificate and many courses focused on the tools of the trade. Languages courses (French, Spanish, and others) are also grouped within this area.

Our Environmental Sciences and Renewable Energy area has courses, series, and programs to help move your career forward. Join environmental professionals in Alberta and across Canada as you learn from our four specialized areas in Soil Science, Water Resource Management, Land Reclamation, and Environmental Remediation. We also offer four stackable programs in Renewable Energy, including Wind and Solar. Students who complete the Renewable Energy Technologies Certificate are eligible to write the Sustainable Energy Technologies Professional Exam. The University of Alberta and Yellowhead Tribal College (YTC) are pleased to announce a partnership to jointly deliver the University of Alberta’s Indigenous Community-Industry Relations certificate program.

This agreement brings together the knowledge systems of both institutions, their expertise and wisdom in their respective teaching areas, and their desire to work together for the provision of continuing education.

The programs within our Public Sector area prepare learners to find a career path in different areas and levels of government administration. The NACLAA certificates will help you get what you need for starting or advancing a career in local government; the IAPP certificate focuses on the administration of information access and privacy legislation; and the ALUP certificate supports professionals in municipal government planning and development.

Our Technology and Innovation programming area offers career programs for digital marketers, web developers, and UX/UI designers. We also teach languages like C#, JavaScript, HTML5 and Python, as well as skill-based courses focused on big data, analytics, managing IT projects, data science, and more.
