Know­ing how to ini­ti­ate, lead, and man­age suc­cess­ful change ini­tia­tives is valu­able for lead­ers at all lev­els. Top­ics may include: change the­o­ries and mod­els; change man­age­ment strate­gies; ini­ti­at­ing and imple­ment­ing change; and orga­ni­za­tion­al and indi­vid­ual learn­ing asso­ci­at­ed with change experiences.

  • Apply Kotter’s Accelerate 8-Step Model to a case study and assess reasons for change failure.
  • Describe the difference between leading and managing change.
  • Evaluate the different elements of change from a leadership perspective.
  • Consider what change capability means to an organization.
  • Explain and analyze the Change Framework: Evaluate – Strategize – Plan – Execute – Sustain.
  • Construct the elements of a high functioning leadership team.
  • Apply systems thinking to identify solutions and implement change.
