Leadership Fundamentals

Lead­er­ship is all about build­ing rela­tion­ships and con­nect­ing with peo­ple. Reflect on cur­rent lead­er­ship prac­tices and explore fun­da­men­tal lead­er­ship the­o­ries as you dis­cuss dif­fer­ent lead­er­ship styles and strengths. Iden­ti­fy key plan­ning strate­gies to lead oth­ers toward a shared vision. Iden­ti­fy strate­gies on how to devel­op a cohe­sive, effi­cient, and effec­tive team. Under­stand the beliefs and bar­ri­ers that may hin­der the efforts of emerg­ing leaders.

Nolan CrouseID: nolan-crouse

The former mayor of St. Albert (Alberta), Nolan Crouse spent 30 years in management and executive roles in companies such as Procter and Gamble, West Fraser Timber, and Alberta Energy Company (EnCana). He is a past recipient of the prestigious Pulp and Paper John Bates Award, received the Rotary Paul Harris Award, and was a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Silver Medallion. Nolan has a history of serving his community and industry in many aspects, including the United Way, Canada Winter Games, and as general manager of AJHL hockey franchises in both Brooks and Fort Saskatchewan.
