Available anytime, anywhere, this self-directed on-demand course offered in partnership with the University of Alberta features a person-centered approach to creating welcoming spaces for people with disabilities so they live, work and play independently, safely and with dignity.
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate from the Rick Hansen Foundation and the University of Alberta, Online Learning and Continuing Education.

This course is intended for anyone who is interested in raising their awareness and knowledge of inclusion and accessibility for people with disabilities. It will help individuals and organizations advance their accessibility journey and break down attitudinal barriers.
Course Goals
Understand the scope of disability in the community.
Demonstrate confidence in communicating and interacting with people with disabilities.
Implement effective strategies to create inclusive spaces, both physically and virtually.
Apply an Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) lens by including people with disabilities.

Fully online, asynchronous course from the Rick Hansen Foundation, in partnership with the University of Alberta.

The course will be graded based on a final quiz.

Participants upon completion will receive a certificate from the Rick Hansen Foundation and the University of Alberta.

Qualifications
There are no prerequisites or previous experience required.
Cost: $99.00 + Applicable Taxes
Note: This program is offered as a collaboration between the University of Alberta’s department of Online Learning and Continuing Education and the Rick Hansen Foundation.
This program is non-credit and does not count towards a University of Alberta diploma or certificate program. It will not impact your GPA and you will not see it on your transcript. Upon successful completion, you will receive a co-branded digital badge and certificate from the University of Alberta and The Rick Hansen Foundation.
