Under­stand­ing your user is key to build­ing a suc­cess­ful expe­ri­ence. Learn how human-cen­tred design can guide quan­ti­ta­tive and qual­i­ta­tive meth­ods, and gen­er­ate the right’ research ques­tions and meth­ods for your client. This course will include prac­ti­cal expe­ri­ence in brain­storm­ing, plan­ning and con­duct­ing user-cen­tred research, as well as cre­at­ing user per­sonas and affin­i­ty dia­grams. It will also touch upon legal and eth­i­cal con­cerns. Pre­req­ui­site EXSM 3920 and EXSM 3921

Jesús Ramirez has over a decade of experience in digital media, software, and interface design. His work spans web, mobile, and emerging technologies such as VR and AR across different industries. Currently, Jesús leads UX Research programs in the e-commerce space, applying a user-centred approach in a B2B ecosystem. With a computer science background, he found his passion working at the intersection of technology, design, and behavioural science, leveraging his professional skills obtained in different roles. He is an active member of the Edmonton UX community as a speaker, community organizer, and facilitator at local events.
