Communication Skills for Global Citizenship I

This is a con­tent-based oral com­mu­ni­ca­tion course fea­tur­ing Cana­di­an his­to­ry, cul­ture, diver­si­ty, sus­tain­abil­i­ty, com­mu­ni­ty engage­ment and inter­cul­tur­al com­mu­ni­ca­tion. Learn­ers will com­mu­ni­cate in every­day sit­u­a­tions; ask for infor­ma­tion relat­ed to stu­dent rou­tines; take part in group dis­cus­sions on Cana­di­an culture/​global cit­i­zen­ship; deliv­er short pre­sen­ta­tions on Canada/​global com­mu­ni­ty; iden­ti­fy main ideas and details when lis­ten­ing to media; get infor­ma­tion from a vari­ety of writ­ten texts; under­stand and appre­ci­ate oth­ers’ per­spec­tives; and inter­act across cultures.
