Managing Performance Through Training and Development

This course focus­es on train­ing and devel­op­ment as an invest­ment in human cap­i­tal; it exam­ines the respon­si­bil­i­ties of human resource train­ing to assist an orga­ni­za­tion in man­ag­ing per­for­mance and meet­ing its strate­gic objec­tives. Top­ics include: needs analy­sis, set­ting mea­sur­able goals, pro­gram design, train­ing meth­ods, trans­fer of skills, eval­u­a­tion, and cost­ing train­ing programs.

Course at a glance

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Explain the three levels of the needs analysis process and how to conduct an organization, task, and person analysis.
  • Describe the steps in the design and delivery of a training program.
  • Discuss and explain the advantages and disadvantages of at least three different training methods.
  • Explain the methods and approaches for estimating the costs and benefits of training programs.
  • Describe the various types of training programs that are designed and delivered by organizations today.
