Focused on enhancing the learners’ abilities to think strategically,
while also exploring effective human resource management processes, methods, and techniques

In the era of knowledge-based economies, human capital has become a critical factor for organizational success. Talented intellectual capital is a coveted asset, one that can make the difference between a thriving business and one that fails to grow. Managing this capital is the vital role of the human resource function, from recruiting the best to getting the best out of them.

The Human Resources Management Certificate from the University of Alberta’s Online and Continuing Education is focused on enhancing the learners’ abilities to think strategically, while also exploring effective human resource management processes, methods, and techniques. Content covered includes workforce planning, managing performance, HR metrics, strategic management, labour relations, and change management.

Participants in this program are generally interested in working in the area of human resources or in a supervisory or management position. Students come from all sectors: government, industry, not-for-profit organizations, and small to large enterprise.
