Application for Admission

After you've applied – next steps:

1. You will receive a UAlberta Campus Computing ID
Within 5 business days:

We will process your application and you will receive an email regarding your UAlberta Campus Computing ID (CCID) and a temporary password.

The CCID will allow you to access:

  • your UAlberta email account
  • our student portal: Bear Tracks
  • and many other campus resources

2. Contact the ELS office to register in your course

Contact us at elsinfo@ualberta.ca.

If you do not yet meet the English Language proficiency (ELP) requirements for our course registration, we will sign you up for an ELS placement test.


3. Get a Canadian Study Permit (if necessary)

Submit a copy of your Letter of Acceptance to your local Canadian Embassy or Consulate in support of your application for a Canadian Study Permit.

Once you have received the Letter of Acceptance email (step 1 above), wait approximately two business days for your Letter of Acceptance to become available for download via the UAlberta Bear Tracks student portal:

Step 1. Use your CCID (Campus Computing ID) to login
  • Once your application to the University of Alberta has been received, you will receive an email regarding your CCID and a temporary password within two business days.
  • In the email, you will be asked to change your temporary password to a new password of your choice at: https://myccid.ualberta.ca/change

4. Make your housing arrangements

Once you receive your travel documents make your travel and housing arrangements. This should be done at least two months before you plan to arrive in Canada.


5. Traveling to Canada during COVID-19

Prior to arranging your travel plans, it is important that you understand the Travel and Quarantine Restrictions for International Students.
