Professional designations offer excellent opportunities to improve your skills, advance your career, and be recognized for your commitment to professional growth.
Many designation courses offered at the Online and Continuing Education can be used toward credentialed programs such as certificates and citations. In addition, the faculty offers courses and programs that will help you better prepare for specific certification exams, while also being applicable to university-conferred credentials.

Preparation
Online and Continuing Education offers the eight courses required to fulfill the academic requirements of the Certified in Management (CIM) designation. Since all of the CIM courses are components of Online and Continuing Education’s Management Development Certificate, students who complete the eight CIM courses are able to obtain a credential from the University of Alberta at the same time as they work toward their professional designation. The designation is awarded by Canada’s senior management association, the Canadian Institute of Management (CIM). |

Preparation

Completion of UAlberta’s Occupational Health & Safety Certificate program meets the educational pre-requisites required for a safety professional to become an Energy Safety Canada Certified Safety External Auditor. The safety association for Canada’s upstream oil and gas industry, Energy Safety Canada is a not-for-profit formed by a pool of industry associations. External Auditors provide companies with audits for certification or re-certification into the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program. |
