Surface and Textile Design
Surface and Textile Design is an introductory studio course in various methods of designing pattern and printing and dyeing textiles. The focus will be on learning the steps in designing textiles and creating pieces of work using one or two of these techniques. Traditional methods of textile design such as batik, shibori, and silk painting will be studied. Students will gain knowledge of the design process including visualization, communication, inspiration and influence. Completion of EXRI 4678 is recommended.
This course has no prerequisites
Students from all educational backgrounds welcome. You can register for this course without applying and enrolling in a program.
