Toxicology: Effects and Hazards

Con­trol­ling chem­i­cal expo­sure is impor­tant to the con­trol of asso­ci­at­ed health risks and haz­ards. Work­er expo­sure com­mon­ly caus­es irri­ta­tion, aller­gy, tox­i­c­i­ty and often dis­ease. Occu­pa­tion­al ill­ness remains a sig­nif­i­cant fac­tors in our soci­eties over­all health. This course pro­vides a more detailed and in depth review of the sub­ject of human tox­i­col­o­gy and the health haz­ards asso­ci­at­ed with chem­i­cal expo­sure at work. The course builds upon the mate­ri­als pre­sent­ed in the core course Fun­da­men­tals of Occu­pa­tion­al Hygiene. Com­ple­tion of EXOS 4622 is strong­ly recommended.
