Mineko KotoID: mineko-koto
Born in Japan, Mineko Koto holds certificates in 文房流 (Bunporyuu) tea ceremony and traditional kimono dressing. She has practiced flower arranging in the 池の坊 (Ike-no‐bo) style for six years. For the last 15 years, Mineko has taught various aspects of Japanese language and culture throughout Alberta. She has been asked to introduce traditional kimono at the annual Animethon by the Consul‐General of Japan in Calgary and to create special presentations about Japanese culture and history to high school students for the Japan Today program. Mineko is the director of Japanese Language for the Edmonton Japanese Community Association (EJCA).
