Communication Strategies

Com­mu­ni­ca­tion can effec­tive­ly make or break many busi­ness inter­ac­tions. Regard­less of tech­ni­cal abil­i­ty or com­pa­ny knowl­edge, suc­cess­ful pro­fes­sion­als require strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills to con­nect with oth­ers with­in and out­side the orga­ni­za­tion. In this work­shop you will begin to under­stand the intri­ca­cies and chal­lenges of com­mu­ni­ca­tion, rec­og­nize and over­come bar­ri­ers, dis­cuss effec­tive lis­ten­ing, read­ing non-ver­bal cues and adapt­ing to dif­fer­ent com­mu­ni­ca­tion styles, and suc­cess­ful­ly giv­ing and receiv­ing feedback.
What you will learn

  • Understand the communication process and identify potential barriers.
  • Practice a variety of practical communication skills including listening on multiple levels, sending clear messages, and giving and receiving successful feedback.
  • Appraise communication skills and determine areas of development.
  • Assess communication styles and practices.
