Implementing Emotional Intelligence (EQ) at Work

Have you ever won­dered why some peo­ple suc­ceed while oth­ers, equal­ly intel­li­gent, fail? Or, why some peo­ple seem to have so much empa­thy and self-aware­ness while oth­ers bum­ble along in an inter­per­son­al fog”? What is emo­tion­al intel­li­gence and why does it mat­ter? EQ styles play a very impor­tant role in dai­ly work­place inter­ac­tions such as: learn­ing how to respond to crit­i­cism, how to deal with diver­si­ty, under­stand­ing the need for tol­er­ance with cer­tain behav­iors or sit­u­a­tions or how to moti­vate our­selves and oth­ers. Accord­ing to many experts, Emo­tion­al Intel­li­gence (EQ) may be more impor­tant than IQ in deter­min­ing suc­cess, both on the job and in per­son­al life.
