Outdoor Living Spaces: Decks and Patios

Learn how to apply inte­ri­or design rules to an open space in this intro­duc­tion to land­scape design. Focus­ing on design­ing decks and patios, you’ll get acquaint­ed with dif­fer­ent hard­scape mate­ri­als and their instal­la­tion process, includ­ing fur­ni­ture, fire­places, gaze­bos, etc. Become aware of how plants can be used in the land­scape, specif­i­cal­ly in regards to screen­ing between homes. Explore basic land­scape design styles and find out how to inte­grate a deck or patio in a shape and size that match­es your out­door space.

Students from all educational backgrounds welcome. You can register for this course without applying and enrolling in a program.
