Arabic I

Build basic skills in Mod­ern Stan­dard Ara­bic (MSA), the lan­guage read and under­stood by most edu­cat­ed Arabs from Iraq to Moroc­co. You will be taught sim­ple con­ver­sa­tion­al skills to allow you to sur­vive day to day sit­u­a­tions in Ara­bic such as greet­ings, intro­duc­tions, count­ing, ask­ing direc­tions, etc. You will be intro­duced to the Ara­bic alpha­bet, dia­crit­i­cal marks and speech sounds. Each class will include con­ver­sa­tion, learn­ing let­ters, sim­ple words, and some cul­tur­al aspects.
