Devel­op your com­mu­ni­ca­tion and read­ing skills in Japan­ese fur­ther. By the time you have com­plet­ed the course, you should be able to han­dle basic every­day liv­ing sit­u­a­tions in Japan­ese. Prac­tice form­ing com­plex sen­tences (includ­ing attribu­tive mod­i­fiers, tens­es, and con­di­tions) and expand your vocab­u­lary. Com­ple­tion of EXGEN 3414 is strong­ly recommended.

Syn­chro­nous online learning, eClass

In synchronous online courses, students move through the course material at the same pace as their peers. These courses also provide learners with pre-scheduled online lectures that have the instructor and students interacting at the same time. Your Instructor

Mineko KotoID: mineko-koto

Born in Japan, Mineko Koto holds certificates in 文房流 (Bunporyuu) tea ceremony and traditional kimono dressing. She has practiced flower arranging in the 池の坊 (Ike-no‐bo) style for six years. For the last 15 years, Mineko has taught various aspects of Japanese language and culture throughout Alberta. She has been asked to introduce traditional kimono at the annual Animethon by the Consul‐General of Japan in Calgary and to create special presentations about Japanese culture and history to high school students for the Japan Today program. Mineko is the director of Japanese Language for the Edmonton Japanese Community Association (EJCA).
