German IV

Using a com­mu­nica­tive approach to learn­ing, we will prac­tice our Ger­man using sit­u­a­tions from every­day life. You should be com­fort­able car­ry­ing on basic con­ver­sa­tions. The fol­low­ing con­ver­sa­tion­al top­ics will be cov­ered: shop­ping, giv­ing and receiv­ing gifts, invi­ta­tions, the Ger­man geog­ra­phy, lan­guage, cul­ture, and peo­ple (biogra­phies). Learn to use the dative, com­par­a­tives and superla­tives, and demon­stra­tive pro­nouns. The gen­i­tive is intro­duced. We will cov­er Chap­ters 9 and 10 in The­men 1 aktuell, Lek­tion 6 – 10. The course allows for some addi­tion­al top­ics and Inter­net use. The lan­guage of instruc­tion is Ger­man. Com­ple­tion of EXGEN 3399 is strong­ly recommended.
