German II

    EX 1111 is offered this winter:

Aimed at those with some back­ground in Ger­man, this course takes a task-based, com­mu­nica­tive approach to learn­ing that is focused on prac­ti­cal sit­u­a­tions from every­day life. Prac­tice con­ver­sa­tion­al top­ics such as hob­bies and leisure, direc­tions, pub­lic tran­sit, being sick and mak­ing a doc­tor’s appoint­ment, stay­ing at a hotel, and more. Dis­cuss the cul­ture of Ger­man-speak­ing coun­tries and learn about pro­nun­ci­a­tion rules, the past tense, prepo­si­tions, con­junc­tions, and the use of the dative case. Ger­man 2 cov­ers lev­el A1.2 of the Euro­pean CEFR-scale.

Richard FeddersenID: richard-feddersen

Richard Feddersen has been a German instructor for nearly a decade. After graduating from the University of Cologne in Germany, he moved to Jordan to teach at the German Jordanian University (GJU) and the Goethe-Institut. He has been involved in developing curricula and material for German for Academic Purposes and has been a coordinator for phonetic training at the GJU. In 2015, he moved to Canada, where he is pursuing his PhD in Applied Linguistics, which is focused on how learners of German construct German identity.
