Essential Editing

Devel­op fun­da­men­tal edit­ing skills for a range of fields with a focus on the edi­tor’s ​“bread and but­ter:” sub­stan­tive and copy edit­ing. Learn the the­o­ry and get prac­ti­cal, hands-on train­ing. Ensure cor­rect and con­sis­tent punc­tu­a­tion, gram­mar, word usage, and spelling, and improve the writ­ing so it’s clear and con­cise. We will explore the edit­ing process, the author-edi­tor rela­tion­ship, the read­ers’ needs, and the busi­ness of editing.
