Write and develop a collection of short fiction toward building a finished portfolio. Review elements of storytelling and explore the formal possibilities of short fiction. Assigned readings, in-class discussions, and short exercises will help you tap into approaches that excite you, deepen your understanding of process, and amass material needed for story drafts. You will be asked to share and critique manuscripts: this is an opportunity to test your work on a focused audience while sharpening your editing and revising skills.
