Introduction to Monotype Printmaking

A nat­ur­al exten­sion of design and paint­ing, mono­type print­ing is a water-based, non-tox­ic method of print­mak­ing. We will explore print­mak­ing tech­niques using a sim­ple plano­graph­ic plate. Learn ink appli­ca­tion includ­ing pos­i­tive and neg­a­tive image build­ing, colour mix­ing, paper prepa­ra­tion, mul­ti-lay­er print­ing, and press pro­ce­dures. Employ your cre­ativ­i­ty in a new way by explor­ing the pos­si­bil­i­ties of mono­type printmaking.
