Abstract Painting: Mid-20th Century to Present
Explore the innovations in abstraction that occurred in the second half of the 20th century to the present as we focus on abstract art produced by women and people of colour. Examine how social movements, changing philosophies, and advancements in technology have influenced abstract art. Gain a deeper understanding of how and why contemporary artists make abstract works. Experiment with other artists’ processes and discuss how to effectively use colour, line, and texture to enhance rhythm and mood
