Special Topics in Art
Learn how to use a palette knife as a painting tool to achieve expressive mark-making with heavy paint application. Explore the method of impasto to apply layers of paint and create paintings with thick, textured surface and visible strokes. Through a series of guided projects, you’ll be introduced to various palette knife techniques as you produce studies from observation and copy a few paintings to learn from one of the old masters. Depending on your preference, we will work to create landscape, floral, or semi-abstract paintings. Open to artists of all levels.
