Draw­ing is one of the cor­ner­stones of art train­ing and is fun­da­men­tal for visu­al arts. Learn the essen­tials of draw­ing from obser­va­tion. Employ­ing pen­cil, con­té, or char­coal on paper, class projects use still-life motifs to intro­duce you to the basic ele­ments of draw­ing line, form, tone, and tex­ture. Devel­op your aware­ness of see­ing and under­stand­ing the fac­tors that work in good pic­ture-mak­ing and apply them to pro­duce a fin­ished drawing.

To start your online learn­ing expe­ri­ence vis­it www​.ext​-leo​.ca/​s​t​u​dents. Please bring to first day of class: Sketch­book: 8.5″ X 11″; a pad of 18″ x 24″ car­tridge paper (stan­dard draw­ing paper), draw­ing pen­cils: 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, white erase, masking/​drafting tape. Rest of sup­plies will be dis­cussed in the first class.
