Expand the skills and ideas intro­duced in Visu­al Art and Design I into a cre­ative and inven­tive for­mat. Par­tic­i­pate in an indi­vid­ual cumu­la­tive project that will devel­op over the length of the course. Samantha WalrodID: samantha-walrod

Samantha Walrod is a painter and educator living in Edmonton. Her work can be found in various private collections across Canada, including the AFA Collection. Walrod is best known for her figurative paintings, which are depictions of animal/human encounters or depictions of flowers in vases that wilt. Each body of work speaks to hope, loss, decay, and the passage of time.

Please bring to first class: new sketch­book 9×12 in (min­i­mum size), rec­om­mend­ed brand CAN­SON Mixed media/​blue cover/​98lb paper; black felt pens, fine, medi­um and wide; mask­ing tape. Rest of sup­plies will be dis­cussed in 1st class.
