Introduction to Web Development

Learn about and prac­tice how to nav­i­gate and use your com­put­er effec­tive­ly. Explore some soft­ware com­mon to devel­op­ers in this low-code course that intro­duces the basics of web devel­op­ment. includ­ing ver­sion con­trol and the analy­sis of both data and log­ic. Stu­dents will be intro­duced to basic web-host­ing options, tools, and top­ics, and learn how to launch a web­site. The basics of qual­i­ty assur­ance, and why it is so inte­gral to the suc­cess of soft­ware projects will also be covered.
What you will learn

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively utilize one or more search engines to locate online resources.
  • Make use of planning and time-tracking software to keep track of resource investment during a project.
  • Use a command-line interface to navigate and version-control a project.
  • Launch of a basic website.
This course has no prerequisites

Students from all educational backgrounds welcome. You can register for this course without applying and enrolling in a program.

This course combines 8 hours of live online sessions with 24 hours of modules/activities to be completed by the student, for a total of 32 hours.
