Watercolour Techniques

    EXART 3525 is offered this spring:

Par­tic­i­pants will learn the basics of water­colour paint­ing such as colour mix­ing, flat wash, grad­ed wash, and wet-in-wet tech­nique. Prop­er­ties of indi­vid­ual water­colour pig­ments will be addressed. In addi­tion to work­ing with still life motif, stu­dents will be intro­duced to land­scape paint­ing, flo­ral study and abstract work.

A member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, Amy Loewan is celebrated for her dedication to creating artwork that promotes peace and understanding. Many of her pieces combine her Chinese cultural heritage with Western postmodern art practices. Her work has been shown across Canada through more than 100 exhibitions, as well as abroad in New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Melbourne. Amy’s large rice paper installation “A Peace Project” has been designated as a Cultural Property of Canada.
